Lifestyle change?

So Nicholette brought up this "is this a lifestyle change" issue and I thought I should clarify.

YES!! The reason why I have CHOSEN to be rid of sugar and anything that is not WHOLE grains is because I think it is something I can EASILY do for the rest of my life. I can't imagine having to count calories of points for the rest of my life! Once I am at my goal weight, I will not be AS psycho about it but seriously... I think EVERYONE knows that when we veer too far from our diet, we end up being punished on the scale, with only ourselves to blame. If I'm going to eat carbs that aren't good for me by eating bread that is not whole grain... I WOULD WAY PREFER TO EAT some of the JUNK FOOD that is sitting around. I mean, if eating a butterfinger is just as bad for me... why the hell waste the opportunity to cheat on bread?

My anxiety comes from fear of failure. I have never lost this much weight in my life. I've never been this dedicated to a goal. When I started this blog, I named it FINISH WHAT YOU START, because I never do. I don't want to get through this half-assing it! I want to GIVE IT MY ALL! So I can really be proud of the fact that I FINISHED it with 100% effort.

Your dedication is amazing! You have to do what works for you. And apparently you've figured out what works for you. One time, about 8 year ago I lost 25 pounds in 3 months time. I was 110% dedicated. Turned down cake at work when it was someone's b-day. Wouldn't eat a bite of anything bad. Never ate a bite in the evening after dinner. Exercised like a fool without missing a day. My point is that I understand how you feel about making a decision to do it and then doing everything perfectly to get to your goal. If it's the way you need to be to succeed, then do it that way. Maybe you'll be able to eat some of those things once you hit your goal and you are in the maintaining mode for the rest of your skinny life. :)

Glad my comment made you happy. You are kicking some serious booty! My prediction is that you will be the overall biggest loser at the rate you are going. It's pretty amazing when something just "clicks" with you finally and you realize you can achieve your goals, huh? Makes you wonder why you failed all those other times. It also makes you happy as a clam to realize you are finally doing it though. It's an awesome feeling. I think it does take 110% dedication. If it didn't, no one would be overweight because it would be too easy. Dang, I'm supposed to be exercising. Can't get off the computer. But here i go....

I didn't mean to make you mad. I am so happy that you are losing weight! You are amazing and doing awesome!! I was just trying to point out that if you have cut out eating wheat bread, etc., you should let people know what your diet is so you don't have to get anxiety about leaving the house. Or you can always do like Michelle, just take your own food with you wherever you go so there wont be an issue about it. People will just know you have your own stuff.
I guess I don't understand. That's why I asked if this is a lifestyle change. You said you get anxiety and feel isolated by your diet and I just don't know why someone would want to feel like that for the rest of their life.
But I AM really happy for you and I hope you KEEP losing weight.
